Members of the Rotary Club of Belvidere were proud to participate in the Boone County Day of Caring on September 30, joining community volunteers for a day filled with service, teamwork, and meaningful impact. The club's involvement began weeks before the event, helping collect much-needed items and supplies for several of the day's projects.
On September 30, Rotarians helped host the volunteer breakfast before rolling up their sleeves to participate in a variety of service activities. Projects included assembling more than 200 kits for individuals in crisis, including personal care kits, teen kits, and emergency food kits. Volunteers also wrote notes of encouragement, recorded children's books to support online reading opportunities, cleared a community garden, and participated in a Fix-It Café. The club was pleased to use its 2026–2027 Rotary District Grant funds to help purchase materials and supplies for the event, extending the impact of those funds through a collaborative community effort. The Boone County Day of Caring was a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when organizations and volunteers come together with a shared purpose. Belvidere Rotarians were grateful for the opportunity to contribute in so many different ways and help make the day a success.
