Human trafficking still exists, impacting millions of lives and generating billions of dollars every year. Together, we can change that. On October 19, thousands of people across hundreds of cities around the world will walk to raise awareness of human trafficking.
When we hear human trafficking we usually think about large cities and other countries, but Illinois ranks eighth among states with the most human trafficking cases. “We believe that every step we take locally leaves a footprint globally,” said Rotarian and organizer, Amy Buss. “Every dollar, every poster seen, every person made aware of the issue of human trafficking will add up to one Global impact where everyone is free.”
If you are interested in helping raise awareness of human trafficking, join Rotary’s Freedom Walk on October 19 at 10 a.m. You can pre-register, or registration will be at the Mt. Carroll Fire Station, 318 S. Clay St, Mt. Carroll, prior to the walk. The walk starts at the Fire Station and continues down Clay Street on the east side, around Courthouse square then back up Clay Street on the west side back to the Fire Station.
To pre-register to walk, go to https://www.a21.org /shop-event.php?intid=4124 or contact Amy Bus at buss.ar@outlook.com or by phone at (563) 219-1502. More information about the event can be found on the Rotary Club of Mt. Carroll’s Facebook page.
Please join the walk. It will only take an hour of your day to show you care!!
