The Rotary Club of Belvidere was recently recognized with the 2026 Distinguished Organization Award by the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce, celebrating the club's longstanding commitment to serving Boone County. With more than 106 years of service, the club continues to make a meaningful impact through community projects, youth programs, scholarships, and partnerships with local organizations.
Recent highlights include a large contribution toward the Appleton Road playground, $10,000 in support of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, approximately $6,000 in annual scholarships, and more than $7,000 toward local hunger relief efforts. The club also remains committed to developing future leaders through programs such as Student of the Quarter, the annual Student Leader Luncheon, and RYLA. Club President Maria Pearson accepted the award on behalf of the membership, recognizing the generations of Rotarians whose dedication and hard work have shaped the club's legacy. The award is especially meaningful given the club's longstanding relationship with the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce and the many businesses, organizations, and community leaders who have partnered with Rotary over the years. While the award recognizes the club's history of service, it is also a celebration of the members who continue to show up, get involved, and make things happen. The Rotary Club of Belvidere is honored by this recognition and proud to share this accomplishment with fellow Rotarians throughout District 6420.
