A primary goal of Rotary is to be a contributing member of our community. Club service encourages each member to become a vital part in community support through sponsored events/activities throughout the year. Some of our activities throughout this past year have included:
Contributing to our local school’s milk money program for children…
Rotarians volunteer regularly to read to children during their after school program…
We have cook-outs throughout the year to raise funds…
Rotarians repaired and replaced the flags at our Veteran’s Memorial…
Printed and sold Walnut historical 2007 calendars as a fund raiser…
Purchased and donated necessary school supplies to our local school…
Donated to support the Rotary Dictionary project…
Purchased and installed rain guttering for our local park district’s shelter.
Donated funds for the Red Oak Church Christmas stocking project.
We sponsored a Veteran’s recognition luncheon for our local vets…
Our Blood Drive in November was one of two for the year…
Our club had our annual Christmas Party recognizing our members and spouses.
Sponsored a Rotary Shelter Box for international disaster relief.
Donated funds to support a children’s theatre program.
Supported our local Pass It On recycle store which in turn funds our local after school program for children.
Sponsored a Farmer’s recognition luncheon for our local farmers.
Our annual pancake breakfast was held for the regional toy show. As well as our annual pancake breakfast for the Walnut Day’s July 4th Celebration.
Helped sponsor funding for the Gateway program.
Sponsored an “Executive Assistant’s Day” luncheon…
Received our district’s Literacy Award for achievement in literacy.
Contributed to the building of Walnut’s historical center.
Supported the International Rotary Rose Parade float.
