Rotary is an organization of men and women who are interested in serving their local as well as international community for the purpose of promoting humanitarian service.  Presently 1.2 million Rotarians in 160 countries belong to more than 30,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide.  Through dedicated service in their communities and worldwide, Rotary members promote peace, goodwill and understanding.  Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of the critical issues of today, such as children at risk, poverty, hunger, disease, the environment, illiteracy, and violence.  Rotarians also support programs for youth, educational opportunities, and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, as well as vocational and career development.
