Elise

    Elise entered the Downtown Rockford Rotary Club in Sept. 1988 with the classification of “Hospital-Clinic Professional”

           She served as the club’s first woman president in 1999-2000 and previously had served as club membership chair and group study exchange chair. Elise participated in the development of the club’s signature project, the Rotary Academy and in chartering the Rotaract Club at Rockford College. She has had perfect attendance since 1990, did a Rotary make-up in Moscow, Russia while traveling with a People to People Mission and in 2007 went on a Rotary mission trip to Nigeria.   

           In 1998, Elise served as District Conference Chair and has chaired the Short-term Exchange Committee 2005-07, the District Governor Nominating Committee (1999), the Youth Protection Committee (2005-07) and the District Group Study Exchange Committee (2004-07. Elise served as 1999-2001 Assistant Governor for Area I and as 2001-05 District Trainer.

          In the Rockford area, she has volunteered as a member of the Rockford Woman’s Club, Junior League of Rockford, Board of Counselors at Rockford College, Senior Warden of St. Anskar’s Episcopal Church, Board of Directors of the United Way of Rock River Valley, Board of Directors of Children’s Development Center (past President) and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Elise currently serves on the Winnebago County Head Start Advisory Council, the Winnebago County Medical Emergency Corp., is a trustee of the Community Foundation of Northern IL. She is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Women.

         A graduate of Washburn University (Topeka, Kansas) and the University of Kansas (M.S.W,1977). Elise has lived in Northern Illinois since 1979, and has had a private practice in clinical social work at Glenwood Center in Rockford since 1980. From 1982-88, she developed and managed the adolescent inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment programs at Swedish American Hospital.

        Elise is a Rotary Foundation Benefactor and member of the 711 Club and she and her husband, Glenn Koski, are Paul Harris Fellows, as is their son, Andrew. Glenn and Elise have been host parents for long and short-term exchange students, for international students at Rockford College and have hosted GSE team members and team members from the Russian Agricultural Exchange. Elise enjoys Kansas University athletics, skiing in Colorado, wandering Chicago. Elise has attended 7 international conventions, including Singapore and Osaka, and 9 Zone institutes.
