Eldon is a charter member of the Ottawa Sunrise Rotary club and has maintained perfect attendance since being chartered in 1989. He served as club president in 1995-96 and again in 2000-01. Other club positions include secretary, bulletin editor and chair of Club, Vocational, International, Community and Public Relations. At the district level, Eldon served five Governors as their Governors Rep., Finance Committee since 1996 and Chairing from 2001 to 2006, Literacy Committee from 2000-04, Nominating Committee for three District Governors, three years on the Governor’s Advisory Council and hosted or coordinator for five different Group Study Exchange Teams.
Eldon and his wife Nancy, also a charter member with perfect attendance in the Ottawa Sunrise Rotary club, are both Paul Harris Fellows +1, each are Paul Harris Benefactors. They have attended three International Conventions.
Eldon served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 serving as an electronic technician in long range radar maintenance. With a B.S. in Business Administration from California Coast University, Eldon was employed for 38 years with Pantrol, Inc. in Ottawa, designing and building custom electrical control systems. In addition to designing, Eldon served his last 21 years as VP/General Manager and President / General Manager before his retirement in 2004.
Eldon is on the board of the LaSalle County Labor of Love and the Ottawa Parks Board, active in the LaSalle County Easter Seal Annual Telethon and has over 20 years with church committees. Other interest and hobbies include camping, woodworking & gardening.
Eldon and Nancy are the parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
