2010-2011 District Governor Don Ahrendsen

   Don was Assistant Governor 2006-2009, before that he served as a Governor’s Aide for 7 Governors from 1981-1988. He has also served on the District Polio-plus and the District Extension committees. He was appointed the Governor’s Representative for the formation of the Ottawa Sunrise Rotary in 1989

     He joined the Ottawa Rotary Club in 1976 and has been President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bulletin Editor and various other committee chairs.

     Don served three years with the Army 3rd Infantry, 2 years in Germany. He attended Iowa State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1966, practiced in Ottawa full time till selling the Fox Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2004, where he still works on a part time basis.

     Don has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for 8 years serving as chairman 1 year, and is also involved with Animal Disaster Response. He is a member of IVERT (Illinois Veterinary Emergency Response Team) and LaSCART (LaSalle County Animal Response Team.)

     His hobbies involve many outdoor activities, the primary one trying to outsmart Alaskan salmon and trout.

     Don and his wife, Bonnie are a Paul Harris Fellows. They are the parents of 2 children and 6 grandchildren.
