Anita Papich

District 6420 Governor 2005 -2006

        Anita joined the Loves Park Rotary Club in 1992 and served on the Board of Directors from 1994-1999. After serving as treasurer and vice-president of the club Anita became president in 1997-98. She has served as chairperson of the Travelogue Series for Loves Park Rotary since its inception seven years ago. Last year she coordinated the club’s Centennial Project which benefited the North Suburban Library.

      Anita served as Co-chair of Stuart Smith’s District Conference in 1995. She has served as the District Interact Chair in 2000-2002. She has also served as an Assistant governor for Area I from 2001-2004. Last year, as Governor Elect, she served as Assistant Governor Coordinator. Thus far she has attended three Rotary International Conventions: 1998 in Glasgow, Scotland, 1999 in Indianapolis, Indiana and 2005 in Chicago.

      Anita is a Paul Harris Fellow, a sustaining member and a member of the Paul Harris 711 Club.

      Her work experience includes 39 years as chair of the Math Department at Keith Country Day School before retiring in 2003. She has taught seven years as a part-time math instructor at Rock Valley College. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Teaching with as emphasis in mathematics from Rockford College. Anita has a son, a daughter and a grandson.

      She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta Social Sorority. She is also a member of Holy Family Parish in Rockford where she serves as a Eucharistic minister and a minister to the homebound.
