District Governor
Leo Patterson

Leo and his wife, Linda, a retired teacher, live in White Oaks, Dixon, IL. Leo serves St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling as a visitation pastor. He graduated from Eureka College, Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago and received a Doctor of the Ministry from McCormick Seminary, Chicago.
The Cambridge Rotary Club invited Leo to join them in 1981 and he moved through the chairs to serve as club president in 1990. Later, in 1990, he moved to the Mendota Club where he continued his Rotary experience, which included serving two terms as president. Leo joined the Dixon Rotary Club in 2005 and has served on the board. He also served as chairman of the
District Friendship Committee. Leo was Assistant Governor for Area V and after moving to Dixon, became Assistant Governor for area IV.
Leo & Linda hosted a Rotary youth exchange student from Sweden and they hosted two agricultural specialists in a Rotary Exchange Program, from Russia. They both experienced our districts World Community Service projects in Costa Rica in 2006. They also enjoy traveling, singing with the Praise Band at St. Paul’s Lutheran, Dixon and volunteer at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center, Oregon, IL.
Leo is a former board member of the Eureka College Alumni Assoc. He presently serves on the board of the Fields Art Project.
Their son, Dr. David Patterson D.O. and his wife, Dr. Michelle Chartier, D.O. are members of the Rotary Club in Flat Rock, MI. where David has served as club president. Michelle is the current club president. David & Michelle have four children.
Their son, Andrew, resides in Lansdale, PA with his wife, Maria and son, Aidan. Andrew received a M.B.A. from Arizona State and is employed by Honeywell. He is a former member of the Chandler, AZ Rotary Club.
