Area VIII Assistant Governor Marian Shurts

Area VIII includes the Rotary Clubs:

Granville, Henry, Lacon and Princeton

     Marian Shurts has been a member of the Henry Rotary Club November, 1991. She served as Vice-President during the 1994-95 year and President in 1995-96. Marian currently holds the position of Club Secretary. She has been a member of the District 6420 Foundation and Membership committees. She has been an Assistant Governor of Area VIII since 2005.

      Marian and husband, Ron have called Henry home since 1969. They have two children, Shelia and Ron and enjoy their six grandchildren.

      Marian is the owner/operator of Shurway Attractions, which is custom sewing and alterations.

She also is a PartyLite Candles and Accessories and Creative Memories scrapbook supplies. Marian was a member of the Henry Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 22 years – serving six terms as President as well as several terms as Vice President and Secretary. In 2005 she retired from the Chamber Board to have time to be more involve in other avenues of community service. Still a member of the Chamber of Commerce, she is active on the Local Events Committee. Currently, Marian is the President of the Marshall-Putnam Quilter’s Guild.

      Her interests include: Spending time with Ron, children and grandchildren, quilting, sewing, reading, scrap booking and NASCAR.

      Marian is a Paul Harris Fellow as well as a Benefactor.
