Area III includes the Rotary Clubs:

DeKalb, Oregon, Sycamore, Rochelle and Kishwaukee Sunrise.

   Bob is a member of the Sycamore Rotary club. He has served as president and has been on the board of directors for several years. Because of his involvement in Rotary the Sycamore club nominated him Rotarian of the Year. He has served as Assistant Governor since 2005.

     Bob retired from Superintendent of Schools for the Sycamore Community Unit School District #427. He has a BA in history, MS in Education and Ed. Sp. And his PhD.

     Bob’s community involvement includes Ben Gordon Center Foundation Board, Past President of the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Sycamore Ambassadors’ Club, Danielson Committee, Sycamore Education Foundation, Northwestern Illinois Association Governing Board, President Kishwaukee Education Consortium, Masonic Lodge, Clinton Consistory, and KAABA Shrine.

     He has received several special honors/awards as follows: Cliff Danielson Outstanding Citizen Award, DeKalb County Excellence in Education Award, Distinguished Educator Award – Kettering Foundation, Those Who Excel Award of Merit, Illinois State Board of Education, Arnold W. Salisbury Educational Leadership Award, Western Illinois University, Who’s Who Bio Record – 1st Edition, Nominated “The Executive 100”, and IPA and IASA – Award Lead Learner. 

     Bob and his wife Diane have a son Rob and a daughter Amanda (Rick) Young.
