Area II Assistant Governor Ruth M. Todt

Area II includes the Rotary Clubs:

Belvidere, Belvidere Bright Horizons, Harvard and Northern Winnebago Co.

     Ruth has been a member of the Belvidere Noon Rotary Club since 2002.  She was club president in the 2008-2009 club year. 

     Ruth retired from principal of Belvidere High School in 2005.  Before becoming a school administrator, she worked as a school psychologist and a high school math teacher.  She has a BA in math, an MS in school psychology, and a specialist degree in school administration from Illinois State University.  She is currently employed part-time by Catholic Charities as a school counselor. She also teaches graduate courses for aspiring school administrators through Aurora University.

     Ruth’s community involvement includes serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children in Boone County.  She is an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a professional society for female educators, and of Sister Cities of Belvidere. She is a volunteer for several ministries in her church. She is a member of the IL. Principals Assoc. and of the National Assoc. of Sec. School Principals.  Ruth and her family lived in central IL. for thirty years.  While living and working there, Ruth was awarded the Peoria Public Schools Superintendent’s Award for Outstanding Administrator in 1998. She was a member of the Family Violence Coordinating Council of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court, the Heart of IL. Critical Incident Stress Management Team, the Community Response Team, the Disaster Mental Health Alliance, and the Professional Advisory Board for the Pediatric Resource Center of the Children’s Hospital of IL.  She was an EMT for Emergency 116, the volunteer ambulance service serving Metamora and Germantown Hills.

     Ruth and her husband John, a retired teacher, have three children and three grandchildren.  Their son Matthew, his wife Glenna and their 3 children live in Lansdale, PA.  Their daughter Andrea and her husband Matthew live in Arlington, VA.  Their daughter Monica and her husband Patrick live in Portersville, PA.  Ruth and John lived in Germany for a year when John was stationed there with the Army.
